TOURNOI DE FRANCE

JANUARY 9 & 11, 2026

On January 9 and 11, 2026, Paris La Défense Arena, Europe’s largest modular venue, will host a major handball event for the very first time: the Tournoi de France. Known for welcoming the biggest international artists and shows, the Arena will be transformed into a veritable temple of sport, allowing Les Bleus to start their year in a unique and spectacular atmosphere.

The Tournoi de France: The key stage before the EHF Euro 2026

The French team, led by Guillaume Gille, enters the Tournoi de France with a clear ambition: to prepare for the 2026 European Championship, which will take place in Norway a few days later. This high-level friendly competition, played against Austria, Iceland, and Slovenia, will go far beyond the scope of a simple preparatory tournament.

The French men’s team is riding a wave of exceptional momentum:

  • European champions in 2024,
  • Bronze medalists at the World Cup in early 2025,
  • Led by iconic players such as Ludovic Fabregas, Dika Mem, Élohim Prandi, Nedim Remili, Karl Konan, and Dylan Nahi.

Fans will therefore have the rare opportunity to see a concentration of the best French and international sporting talent compete on the same evening.

A complete experience: sports, concerts, and celebrations

The 2026 Tournoi de France is not limited to handball. Spectators will be offered a complete experience.

Friday, January 9: after the French team’s first match, a special concert will extend the evening. This bold choice highlights the Arena’s flexible capacity to switch in a matter of moments from an intense sporting event to a festive live show.

Sunday, January 11: The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will bring the tournament to a close. Spectators will be treated to a unique event, where former champions and legends of the French national handball teams will receive eternal recognition.

Paris, capital of sports and entertainment

Whether you are passionate about handball, enjoy major sporting events, or are curious to discover the Arena in a new setting, the 2026 France Tournament at Paris La Défense Arena will make history.

Paris thus confirms its status as the world capital of sport and entertainment: after the Olympic Games and numerous international concerts, handball takes center stage in Europe’s largest modular arena.

This event perfectly illustrates the ambition of the French Handball Federation, summed up by its president Philippe Bana: “to reintroduce international events in order to shine the spotlight back on our athletes and offer spectacular displays.”

An event not to be missed

The 2026 Tournoi de France at Paris La Défense Arena will be more than just a handball tournament. It will be a true celebration of sport, emotion, and entertainment. In a modular venue that has already hosted some of the world’s biggest concerts, fans will be able to cheer on Les Bleus and leave with lasting memories.
