OPTIC 2000

Founded in 1962, the Groupement d’achats des opticiens lunetiers (GADOL) established the Optic 2000 brand in 1969 as a cooperative.

In 1999, the group created two subsidiaries, Audio 2000, a hearing aid retailer, and Optic 2000 Switzerland. It acquired Lissac Opticien in 2003. In 2004, the brand had 1,162 points of sale in France.

In 2008, the group implemented a computerized traceability system using software (PVO) to prevent the risk of substitution and required its members to sign an ethical charter. The group terminated its relationship with members who did not wish to apply it.

Optic 2000 reported consolidated revenue of €827 million in 2017. In 2023, Optic 2000 achieved consolidated revenue of €1.292 billion. In February 2024, Optic 2000 won the Essec Grand Prize for Commerce 2024.

In March 2024, Optic 2000, as an Official Supporter of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, signed table tennis champions Félix and Alexis Lebrun. At the end of their two-year contract with the brand, their jerseys will feature the Optic 2000 logo.
